Meet the SDHSATA Board

President
Alexa LaValle - Oceanside High School
Alexa currently serves as President of the San Diego High School Athletic Trainers' Association, following two years as the association's Director of Communications. She has been an Athletic Trainer for Oceanside High School for the past 6 years, providing comprehensive care and support to student-athletes across all sports programs. A lifelong Oceanside native, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sport Science and her Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Concordia University Irvine. In addition to her work on campus, Alexa currently serves on the board of the San Diego High School Athletic Trainers’ Association and volunteers with the California Athletic Trainers’ Association at their annual clinical symposium. Alexa believes in a holistic approach to care that supports injury prevention, mental well-being and long-term development, with the goal of helping Pirate student-athletes thrive on and off the field.

Director of Public Relations
Brianna (Bri) Corallo - Westview High School
Bri started working at Westview High School team in the summer of 2025. Prior to working at Westview, she was the head athletic trainer at Canyon Crest Academy and worked with the women's professional volleyball team, San Diego Mojo. She also spent a year at both UCSD and USD as part of her clinical experience. Bri holds a bachelor's in athletic training from SDSU as well as a master's in athletic training from Indiana Wesleyan University. In addition to her athletic training background, she played indoor volleyball, water polo, and swam in high school as well as beach volleyball at SDSU

Caitlin Lopez - Westview High School
Caitlin has been an Athletic Trainer at Westview highs school since 2023. Before working at Westview, she served as an athletic trainer at El Capitan High School. Caitlin holds a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Point Loma Nazarene University and is a certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). Throughout her educational career she was able to work alongside medical professional at San Diego Loyal, San Diego Legion, and Standford University. She was also a collegiate cheerleader during her undergraduate years. Outside of athletic training Caitlin has been a gymnastics coach at the Dan McKinney Family YMCA for 12 years. On her free time, she enjoys spending time with her wife, doing water sports, working out, and trying new restaurants with friends.

Director of Community Outreach
Christine Mitchell - La Jolla Country Day School
Christine’s love of the profession started as a freshman in high school in an Athletic Training class and has continued ever since. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina and Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from Boston University. Throughout her educational and professional career she has worked with many teams including South Carolina’s Football and Basketball teams, Boston University’s field hockey team, the New England Revolution’s academy soccer teams and San Diego State’s Women’s Soccer Team. She currently works both as the Head Athletic Trainer for La Jolla Country Day, where she has been for 13 years, and as the Player Welfare Program Manager for SoCal Youth Rugby. She is dedicated to providing individualized, evidenced based care and loves watching her athletes succeed on and off the field. In her free time she can be found doing all of the circus hobbies or eating all of the Trader Joes’ snack
