San Diego High School AthletiC Trainers' Association

Melissa Hutzell is currently the Head Athletic Trainer at Vista High School.  She is also the advisor for the VHS Sports Medicine Club and oversees the hands-on training of six athletic training student-aides.  Melissa grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and attended Iowa State University.  Go Cyclones!  After Iowa State, Melissa went to the University of the Pacific.  She worked with the Field Hockey team and worked congruently as a GA within the Sports Science Department.  In 2011, Melissa moved to the San Diego area and took the position at Vista High School and has been there ever since!  Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, going to concerts, running, and lifting weights.
